Getting ready to breed the divine Aphrodite Dragon, Ginger as Dragon of the Week and other news

Dragon Mania Legends blog: news for this weekHello Dragon Ladies and Lords! The castle event is still going on, clan dragon race has started today, Kitty Dragon is now available in card packs, but the most exciting news for this week is: Aphrodite Dragon will again be breedable in Chain Breeding for four days between Tuesday and Monday (which is actually Christmas Eve). Parents for this divine beauty aren't yet publicly known and it seems that Gameloft won't reveal them any earlier than on Tuesday morning. It will be probably extremely hard to breed a divine dragon in just four days, even if you start trying just after the Chain Breeding starts, so it is important to have both parents required for Aphrodite earlier. But how can you get required dragons during the next two days if you don't know, which dragons are required? Well, here I come with the analyze of most likely candidates for Aphrodite parents, which will be main topic of this post. Later I will also highlight other news for this week. So, let's start!

Breeding Aphrodite Dragon

Dragon Mania Legends blog: Aphrodite dragons and other divines
As you can see on the right, I already have two Aphrodites, but I would be very happy to get a third one. How to increase my chances? Well, let's see. It has been announced that this will be Chain Breeding. So far, we have had only two Chain Breeding events in DML. In September, Chemistry Dragon was available for two weeks. The first parent was the School Bus Dragon, which was a Dragon of the Week and started being breedable exactly the same moment that Chemistry. The other parent was the Raincoat Dragon, which was the main prize for mini-solo event lasting 4 days, that started on the same day. It looks like the only connection between Chemistry and the parents was the time when they were available - they don't look alike, they don't have similar theme and they have totally different elements.

Dragon Mania Legends: chain breeding event Chemistry Dragon
Dragon Mania Legends blog: chain breeding event Red Scale DragonThen in October, Red Scale Dragon was available for 14 days, starting on October 1st. The first parent was the Laser Dragon, that was the October Dragon of the Month. The other parent was the Lava Dragon, which is normally breedable. Again, it seems that the only connection between Red Scale and Laser is the time when they were breedable. However, Lava Dragon looks pretty alike the Red Scale Dragon and they have two elements in common: fire and earth (Red Scale also has shadow element). So, what does it tell us about possible parents for Aphrodite Dragon? First of all, the first parent must be a limited-time breedable dragon (that's why it's called "Chain" breeding). So it will be either the Ginger Dragon or the Ice Spike Dragon. As the Aphrodite is a divine, a legendary dragon seems more likely to be a parent for her. On the other hand, it's been breedable for over half a month by now, and previous Chain Breeding has both started the same day that the first parent started being breedable. Also, Aphrodite's 2nd and 3rd element are fire and water, while Ginger is an wind-water-fire rare. So in my opinion, Ginger is a more likely parent for Aphrodite. And what about the other parent? It can be either an event dragon (like in September) or a normally breedable dragon (like in October). It seems more likely to me that it will be an event dragon this time. Which event dragon will it be? Well, for the Chemistry Dragon, which is just an epic, it was the dragon from the last tier of the event, and Aphrodite is a divine, so Li'l Angel seems very, very unlikely, and Cinnamon should seem unlikely too. However, Cinnamon's elements are fire, water and plant, so it also has two elements in common with Aphrodite. And Ginger+Cinnamon would be such a nice combination! Snow Globe on the other hand is the last dragon that we get from the castle event, so it would make more sense that it would be a parent for a divine dragon (as divines are meant to b difficult to get). Frost Fairy is also an option, but a highly doubtful one in my opinion - it was just so hard to get it this time, but many players has it from previous year Christmas castle event. But people who had been playing DML then, has also been already given a chance to get Aphrodite during the very first divine event, so making the Frost Fairy a parent for Aphrodite now would be just so unfair for the new players. Some people has also speculated that Lantern could be a parent for Aphrodite, but this is impossible - to get Lantern, you'll need the Dragon of the Week of the next week, and breeding Aphrodite ends sooner. And what about the non-limited time dragons? When Aphrodite was a Dragon of the Week during the first divine event, the Fire Dragon was one of the parents. Water would make more sense in my opinion, as the Aphrodite, according to the Greek mythology, was born from sea and "Sea Born" is one of her epithets. However, Gameloft doesn't seem to get this point. Other dragons that share elements with Aphrodite and thus could be chosen as the parents (like Lava for Red Scale) are: Boiling, Rustwater or Siren. I have also checked for dragons that look alike Aphrodite, and Fairy is the only candidate from this criteria. So, to sum up my bets for Aphrodite parents are:

(The missing 1% on the left side and 2% on the right side represents my opinion chances of Aphrodite's parents being other dragons that mentioned)

Ginger as the Dragon of the Week

This dragon is just so adorable! And actually a bit easier to breed than the Block Dragon from the last week. Now, Ginger's element set isn't unique. A normally-breedable Masque Dragon is wind-fire-water hybrid and another normally-breedable Imperial Dragon is a water-fire-wind hybrid. Other dragons with this element set are: LeviathanMerchant and Agnes. Thus, having the Ginger Dragon generally isn't a big help - if you need exactly those element for breeding (which you probably will one day for a Dragon on the Month) or to upgrade a temple, you have two much easier to get options. Also as a battle dragon, Ginger is a bad choice. A rare tri-elemental dragon could possibly be a good pick for a not very active player, as it requires much less enchantment materials and doesn't require gems to unlock 3rd element, but Ginger is vulnerable to fire and light attacks with their super offensive skills, which is very bad for a battle dragon. Imperial on the other hand is also a rare, has the same element set (so the same possible attacks, skills and stats), but is vulnerable to earth and shadow attacks. Earth element's skill is defensive, thus Imperial is a better choice for the battle team regardless to other dragons you have, your activity etc. However, Ginger Dragon is pretty much possible parent for the divine Aphrodite Dragon, so it is highly recommended that you try to breed it. The breeding table is the following:

Other news for this week

There will be food frenzy tomorrow, so all the food gathered from farms will be increased by 1.5x. It's pretty nice, but since it overlaps with the castle event, I haven't planted 4 days food to benefit most from it. But still, 6h food with bonus 50% will be a nice thing! Crowded Nursery is also going on, but I guess everyone will be hatching event dragons, so with some extra bred eggs or just one other epic from your inventory, you should easily get your 4 gems from milestones. Also, we have the Kitty Dragon available in Weekly Dragon Pieces. It isn't any powerful battle dragon and probably won't ever be useful as a parent, it's gold/hour is just okey, and it shares the element set with two limited-time dragons: Pansy Flower and Crone. However, I think it is super cute and I already have one :) For the occasion of Kitty being available again, this week I will post another Tourist Dragons post with photos with the Kitty Dragon ;)

I really hope this post was helpful and that I got the Aphrodite Dragon's parents right. Please tell me in comments what do you think about Aphrodite's parents! Have a wonderful day at your Dragonlandia!
