Tourist Dragons part 1: Łazienki Królewskie
Hello Dragon Ladies and Lords! As I promised, today I have a very short, purely entertainment post for you. First of all, I'd like you to meet my super cute, plush dragon friend: Agapanthus Stellaris. Very long name for such a small dragon, isn't it? :) However, this dragon had wanted to have a name with similar tone to the one I'm using here on blog, so Agapanthus is a Latin name for a pretty blue flower (like Vicia is a Latin name for small, purple flowers), and Stellaris is a Latin adjective that translates as "Stellar". Agapanthus also agrees to be called Agallaris, which is just a shortened form of his name - doesn't it sound cute? In the pictures here, Agallaris and I meet a peacock. Peacocks are birds that naturally live in Asia, however, they are just so colorful and beautiful, that they have been brought by humans to many other places - including Warsaw. Just after taking those photos, I realized that there is a Peacock Dragon in DML! This got me hit on an idea of this short series, where I'll be showing photos of me or Agallaris playing Dragon Mania Legends in cool, beautiful places related somehow to the in-game dragons! Today I'll show you some photos taken in Łazienki Królewskie ("Royal Baths") park in Warsaw. It is a very big, very beautiful park with many historic buildings. It was bought and arranged by Stanisław August Poniatowski, who later became the king of Poland, last one ever in our history. I will show you just a few places in Łazienki, as they are far to big to be fully described in just one blog post. So, let's start!
A peacock and the Peacock Dragon
Honestly, it wasn't easy to make this photo! The peacock here was nice enough to show his tail, but he didn't care about standing in a place with a good light ;) But in my opinion, it is worth an effort. What do you think - does the Peacock Dragon look like a real peacock?
Flowers and the Bloom Dragon
There are so many flowers in the Łazienki park! (Well, there was in summer ;) But I chose this place for a photo with the Bloom Dragon, because it seemed to fit its colors best.
Polish climate is way too cold for orange trees to grow in nature. However, Polish nobility in XVIII century really liked to bring exotic plants and animals to Poland. Not only they brought peacocks so that they live in Łazienki, they also kept orange trees in pots. During summer, they were kept outside and when the weather was starting to become cold, they would be moved to a dedicated building called Pomarańczarnia ("Orangery"). The Orange Dragon enjoyed seeing this building and small orange trees outside it (it was summer when I made those photos ;)
The Chopin monument and the Classical Dragon
The Chopin monument is probably the most iconic place in the Łazienki park. It was built in 1926, so very long after Poniatowski's times. It is a place where many open-air concerts of Chopin's music are organised. The Classical Dragon couldn't miss its opportunity to see this monument! ;)
That is everything I have for you for today. I hoped you enjoyed it! Please tell me in comments what other dragons or places would you like to see in this kind of posts. Have a wonderful day at your Dragonlandia!
