16 - 23 April 2018 Dragon of the Week review: the Go Green Dragon

File:Go Green Dragon Advertisement (Dragon of the Week 2016).jpgHello Dragon Ladies and Lords! Although the current Dragon of the Week is still the Astronaut Dragon, the Go Green Dragon has been already revealed on the official DML forum as the dragon for upcoming week. This text will provide you with general information about Go Green obtaining, potential usages as a battle dragon, a parent, a temple upgrading dragon and gold generation, to help you decide whether you should try breeding it or not. So, let's start!

Breeding

To have a chance of breeding the Go Green Dragon, you will have to breed the Smoke Dragon with the Tree Dragon. Not only that we were given a very easy combination of two common dragons that almost everyone has got (remember that Tree is the guaranteed outcome when breeding Earth Dragon with Plant Dragon). It is also thematically connected with the offspring! I can't think of any past Dragon of the Week combination, that would be topical association with the offspring, and I think it is really great idea! I really hope for it to happen more often. Possible outcomes from that breeding are:

(All the times in brackets refers to level 2+ VIP members. Mystic Dragon can only be bred with active VIP status with level 4 or higher)

The list is rather long as for Dragon of the Week, but on the other hand, three outcomes have low breeding times, and the Tribal at least isn't blocking the hatchery. Also, the opportunity to get Sunflower, Tribal and  Orange is nice for new players.

As a battle dragon

File:Go Green Dragon Base Stats - Codex Entry.jpgThe plant element isn't perfect pick for the base element of a battle dragon, but it isn't bad either. Go Green will suffer 150% damage from shadow and metal attacks (and skills), but on the other hand, he will only take half damage from plant attacks (with their poisoning skills!) and water attacks. Base of 63 attack damage isn't perfect for an epic, since even about 67 can be reached rather easily (for example with Lynx, Ruby, Banana or Wizard), but it's not very bad either. 216 base health points is slightly higher than expected score for a battle dragon. Lack of light and shadow elements means only three element strengths, but Go Green can be trained three very useful skills and fill both defensive and offensive role. In Enchantment League, he can benefit from common Potion - Water Damage Boost.pngPotion - Wind Damage Boost.png and uncommon Potion - Plant Damage Boost.png Skill Boost Potions, which gives some extra choice and can help to make optimal decisions. So, Go Green as a battle dragon can be a good idea for a beginner player, or for someone who doesn't feel active enough to make their battle team from legendaries/divines only and misses some of Go Green's elements.

Other usages

Nurture Dragon Base Stats - Codex Entry.jpgGo Green's element set isn't unique. However, the only normally-breedable dragon that shares it is Elixir Dragon, which is one of the VIP dragons and requires active VIP status of level 8 or higher to be bred, so is unavailable to any free player. Other dragons that have plant, water and wind elements are Nurture, Springtime and Sprite, which all are limited-time. So if you don't have any of them, trying for the Go Green now is a really good idea.

As a tri-elemental, Go Green will most likely never be a good idea for regular breeding, and as he's a limited-time, you will probably never see him as parent neither in Dragon of the Week, nor in enchanted breeding. However, his element set can be very useful while breeding a Dragon of the Month. For example, he can be used in a combination that gives the highest chances of breeding the Ironfire Dragon, which is the current Dragon of the Week.

Having the Go Green Dragon may also in certain cases help you optimize the number of dragons fed to upgrade your temples, which means saving some food. This isn't very important reason, because water, wind and plant elements are popular among the tri-elementals, but one more extra option is always nice to have.

With plant habitat as the best place that he can live in, Go Green isn't anywhere close being a good gold producer for an advanced player. His base of 380 gold/hour looses to most other epics that should live in plant habitat (like Orange, Agave, Kangaroo or Kitsune) and can be a real help only to a beginner player.

Conclusion

Podobny obrazThe Go Green Dragon is definitely a dragon worth having. Though he isn't any great gold generator, he can be extremely useful while breeding a Dragon of the Month and provide you with some help in upgrading your temples. He is one of the best ideas for breeding the current Dragon of the Month, and as the Sunflower Dragon is a possible outcome when attempting to breed the Go Green Dragon, switching to breeding him is a good idea even when you are going for the Ironfire and the Sunflower at the same time. It may happen that you'll get Sunflower before Go Green (which is likely for Sunflower is a rare and Go Green an epic), so once you get the Dragon of the Week and get back to breeding Dragon of the Month, you'll be able to use a combination with highest chances. If you already have the Ironfire Dragon, it's still a very good idea to try breeding the Go Green Dragon, especially when you don't have neither Nurture, nor Springtime, nor Sprite, because his elements can be needed for you in the future. The only case when it isn't highly recommended to try breeding Go Green is when you already have a dragon that shares his element set.

Please tell me in comments what do you think about this dragon! Have a wonderful day at your Dragonlandia :)
